The intent for this Federation is to unify and, “maintain [the] art as [the] same,” as taught by Yip Man. This is in order to stop the changes that have been introduced over the years due to differences in individual understandings of the philosophies in the art. Wing Chun theory and the Forms should be the same, standardized, and without divergent understanding among all members. Sifu also shares that he also had to return to Yip Man years later to get his own understandings corrected.
