Born a mixture of indigenous South American and Chinese in the Andes mountain range of Peru, Yuri Timg was raised in the City of New York, New York State, USA. Started his wing chun training in 2002 under the tutelage of Joseph Musse, Jr. (who is under the tree line of SiFu Duncan Leung). Yuri Timg moved to Hong Kong in 2004, on SiFu Duncan Leung’s recommendation began training with SiFu Guy Lai -a good friend of SiFu Duncan Leung’s- for four years.
In 2007 Yuri Timg moved to the Philippines and contacted SiFu Leung to further his studies. SiFu Leung came to the country to support Yuri Timg’s endeavor to put up Applied Wing Chun Philippines school in March of 2010 and did a four-day tour doing vapors demos and interviews to help promote the art of Wing Chun in general and to establish Yuri Timg’s AWCPH school in the Philippines.
Under the constant guidance of SiFu Duncan Leung, Yuri Timg continuously trains to further his skills and understanding of the Art.
